AC Milan Eye €20 Million Move for Sebastiano Esposito Ahead of Summer Transfer Window

AC Milan are reportedly preparing a move for Sassuolo forward Sebastiano Esposito ahead of next summer’s transfer window. According to Calciomercato.it, the Rossoneri are considering a deal worth around €20 million as they look to strengthen their attacking options. Rather than pursuing the Italian forward during the winter transfer window, Milan are expected to wait until the end of the season before making their move.

Esposito’s journey has taken a positive turn after a difficult summer following his departure from Cagliari. The former Inter Milan player has found greater consistency at Sassuolo, rewarding new coach Alberto Aquilani’s faith with a series of encouraging performances. His recent progress has helped restore attention to his potential and made him an appealing option for clubs looking to add versatility and quality to their forward line.

The 23-year-old has also featured alongside his younger brother, Pio Esposito, for the Italian national team. Their partnership has attracted attention as both players continue to develop their international careers. Pio has also made an impression on the international stage, scoring in Italy’s 4-1 victory over Turkey on September 28. Their performances have further highlighted the Esposito family’s growing presence in Italian football.

However, securing Sebastiano’s signature could prove expensive for Milan. His current valuation is approaching €20 million and could rise further if he maintains his form throughout the season. He has recorded one goal in two Serie A appearances so far, meaning his performances over the coming months will likely play an important role in determining his final transfer fee. Milan have demonstrated their willingness to spend heavily, having invested approximately €150 million in new players last summer, including €75 million plus bonuses for Gonçalo Ramos and more than €50 million for Diego Moreira.

Esposito’s ability to operate as a central striker or in a supporting attacking role could make him a useful addition to Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system. His versatility would give Milan more tactical options, although his potential position within the squad remains uncertain. Young prospect Francesco Camarda is also competing for opportunities after making an impact with Italy’s Under-21 side in their 6-2 win over Poland. Milan must therefore weigh Esposito’s potential against the financial cost and the club’s existing attacking prospects before deciding whether to pursue the deal.
